This directory manually reviews every single listing for quality, content and relevance. If your listing is not approved within 48 hours, please contact the directory owner.
It is important to note that if you do not register (it's free) and log in before you submit your directory listings, you will NOT be able to change information in it later. You will have to contact the site admin to have anything updated or changed. If this happens too frequently, there will be a fee applied.
Due to the significant non-relevant spam added to this directory daily, free listings have been removed. This PR3 directory IS well worth your time at a mere $4.95 per year for a basic listing.
Directory Frequently Asked Questions
1. I logged in but it shows me the page to log in/register again.
You ARE already logged in. If you look to the left of the page in the menu you will see your login name and a link to your account. Just click the "Home" link (top left corner of the site) and then browse to the category you want to place your listing in. Once you submit your listing it will be associated with your account and you can come back to make changes as needed at a later date.
2. I am trying to add my site for free but I keep getting an error about the reciprocal link. What am I doing wrong?
A reciprocal link means that you must give a link back to the site you are looking to link from. If the link back to Cattery Index is not on the exact page (URL) that you tell the form to look at, it cannot "see" that link. Until the link back to Cattery Index is in place, you will not be able to add your site.
Also note that if you put up a graphical banner with the link on it, the program cannot "see" the link. The program looks specifically for the textual link only. You may add a banner as well if you like, but the textual link is the one that must be there first.
Lastly, if your site is using FRAMES of any kind, please use the direct link to the specific page that link is on, not the frames page. If you have difficulty with this, contact me via email and I'll sort it out for you.
If you do not want to place a link back to the cat breeder directory, you will need to select a paid option.
3. In my directory listing, the thumbshot of my website is missing, outdated or wrong, how do I change this?
The "screenshot" or thumbshot of the front page of your website is a service provided by a 3rd party that I have no control of whatsoever. Thumbshots.com provides a thumbshot (screenshot) of the front page of your website to many, many services online across the world. This thumbshot is generated when your site is visited by their program (like a google robot).
To update your Thumbshot, you need to create a free account at Thumbshots.com, log in, and go to Products >Thumbshots Images > Update Thumbshots (login required). This creates a request to have your site revisited by a thumbshots.com robot. When that happens, your site Thumbshot is updated. For more information please read their FAQs.
4. Can I use deep links in my listing?
Yes, you may use up to 3 deep links per regular listing, or 5 in a featured listing. This means you can add up to 5 more page links within the same domain name (site). Free listings do not permit deep links.
5. Can I list my site in multiple categories?
Yes, you may list in up to 3 categories for regular listings and up to 5 in featured listings. Free listings do not include multiple category options.
